Recent study contradicts the 2004 study which claimed to establish a link between watching tv and behavorial problems (ADHD) at school. The authors of the study say that the difference in the results of the two studies is due to the different methodology used in the studies.
The study found that attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) had been there well before children had television to watch. The study points out that some links between ADHD, environmental factors around the time of birth and exposure to environmental toxins have been established.
The study concludes that the relationship between early television viewing and later attention problems may be linked to child temperament as much as or more than television causing children to be inattentive.
